01Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how LazyTube ("LazyTube", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the LazyTube website, Chrome extension and related services.
LazyTube is a tool that helps you upload videos and YouTube Shorts to your own YouTube channel in bulk. We only use information as needed to provide that functionality and the other purposes described below.
LazyTube is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
02Google and YouTube Authorization
LazyTube uses Google OAuth so you can authorize access to your YouTube channel. You sign in through Google's own authorization flow. LazyTube does not collect or store your Google password.
To keep your authorized YouTube connection active, LazyTube stores a YouTube OAuth refresh token securely on our server-side backend (Supabase). When needed to perform an operation you have authorized, our backend may obtain short-lived YouTube access tokens.
03YouTube Data We Access
LazyTube accesses only the YouTube data needed to provide its upload and channel-management features. This can include:
- Your YouTube channel ID
- Your YouTube channel name/title
- Connected channel information needed to identify and verify the YouTube channel you selected
- Playlists, so you can choose a playlist during uploads
- Information needed to perform the YouTube video uploads you authorize
- Video metadata associated with your uploads, including supported settings such as title, description, tags, category, visibility, scheduling/publication settings, audience settings and other supported YouTube upload settings
LazyTube does not access your entire YouTube account or your entire YouTube history.
04Local Video and Thumbnail Files
LazyTube can access video and thumbnail files that you explicitly select for upload from your computer. These files are processed locally by the extension and, when applicable, uploaded directly from your computer to YouTube. LazyTube does not upload or store those video or thumbnail files on its backend.
LazyTube supports YouTube Shorts uploads. Custom thumbnail uploads for Shorts are not currently supported.
05Information Stored by LazyTube
LazyTube uses Supabase as part of its backend infrastructure. Depending on the features you use, LazyTube may store or process:
- Your LazyTube account identity and account information
- Connected YouTube channel information
- YouTube OAuth connection information
- Subscription/plan information
- Upload usage and reservation information
- Product usage, API usage and error telemetry
- Information required to authorize backend requests
- Other information required to provide LazyTube functionality
Your video files and thumbnail files are not stored on Supabase or on LazyTube's backend.
06Product Telemetry
LazyTube uses its own product telemetry to operate, monitor, troubleshoot and improve the service. Telemetry may include events such as upload events, API usage events and error events.
This telemetry is not used for advertising tracking.
07AI-Assisted Features
LazyTube may offer AI-assisted generation of metadata such as descriptions or tags. When you request AI-generated content, LazyTube may send the information needed for that request, such as the video title and your relevant instructions or selected mode, through the LazyTube backend to the AI service used for that feature.
Your video files are not sent to the AI service.
08How We Use Information
We use information only for purposes such as:

- Connecting and maintaining your authorized YouTube channel
- Performing uploads and related YouTube operations you request
- Saving your LazyTube account and relevant settings
- Managing upload usage and plan limits
- Providing AI-assisted features you request
- Preventing abuse and unauthorized access
- Troubleshooting errors and monitoring service reliability
- Improving LazyTube
- Providing customer support
- Meeting legal and security obligations
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your data for personalized advertising.
10Use of YouTube API Services
LazyTube uses YouTube API Services to provide YouTube-related functionality, including connecting a user's authorized YouTube channel and performing upload-related operations requested by the user.
LazyTube does not request or store your Google password. YouTube authorization is performed through Google's authorization system.
By using LazyTube's YouTube features, you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. For information about how Google handles your data, see the Google Privacy Policy.
You can revoke LazyTube's access to your Google/YouTube account at any time through your Google security settings.
Revoking access through Google and deleting data stored by LazyTube are separate actions. See Revoking Access and Deleting Data.
11Chrome Web Store User Data and Limited Use
LazyTube handles user data in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Data collected through the extension is used only as necessary to provide, operate, secure and improve LazyTube's user-facing functionality.
- LazyTube does not sell user data.
- LazyTube does not use personal or sensitive user data for personalized, retargeted or interest-based advertising.
- Data is transferred to third parties only where necessary for the LazyTube functionality described in this policy (Google/YouTube, Supabase and, when requested, the AI service), for security, to comply with legal obligations, or for other purposes permitted by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.
12Revoking Access and Deleting Data
You can:
- Disconnect or revoke LazyTube's access to your Google/YouTube account, including through your Google security settings.
- Request deletion of data stored by LazyTube.
- Delete your LazyTube account.
Additional in-app options for disconnecting your channel will be described here once they are available.
Deleting data stored by LazyTube does not delete any videos, playlists, channels or other content stored on YouTube. That content remains on YouTube and is managed through YouTube.
13Deleting Your LazyTube Account
You can request deletion of your LazyTube account and associated data through our account and data deletion process. See Account & Data Deletion.
Deleting your LazyTube account is different from deleting content on YouTube. It does not remove videos, playlists or channels from YouTube.
14Data Retention
LazyTube retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service, maintain your account, fulfil the purposes described in this policy, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and maintain security.
YouTube API data is handled, retained and deleted in accordance with the applicable YouTube API Services policies. When you revoke LazyTube's access or request deletion, the relevant stored YouTube API data is deleted as required by those policies.
15Security
LazyTube uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. Communications with LazyTube's backend use secure HTTPS connections, and OAuth refresh tokens are stored server-side rather than in the Chrome extension.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
17Children
LazyTube is not directed to children. LazyTube is intended for users who are legally able to use the service under applicable law.
18Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as LazyTube changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
19Contact
Privacy questions and data requests, including requests to access or delete data stored by LazyTube, can be submitted through the Support page.
